To remove color cast from an HDR (High Dynamic Range) image, you can follow these steps:
1. Open the HDR image in your photo editing software of choice. Adobe Photoshop is a popular option for HDR images.
2. Duplicate the image layer so that you have a backup of the original image in case anything goes wrong.
3. Create a new adjustment layer by clicking on the "Adjustment Layer" icon in the Layers panel and selecting "Curves". This will create a new Curves adjustment layer.
4. In the Curves dialog box, select the Blue channel and adjust the curve so that it matches the Red and Green channels. This will help to balance the color cast in the image.
5. Repeat step 4 for the Red and Green channels, adjusting the curves until they match each other.
6. Use the Eyedropper tool to select a neutral gray area in the image. This could be a white or gray object, such as a cloud or a wall. This will help to further adjust the color balance of the image.
7. Create another adjustment layer, this time selecting "Selective Color". In the dialog box, select "Neutrals" from the drop-down menu.
8. Adjust the sliders for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black until the neutral gray area in the image looks neutral.
9. Repeat steps 6-8 as needed for other neutral areas in the image.
10. Save the image as a new file to avoid overwriting the original.
By following these steps, you can effectively remove color cast from an HDR image and achieve a more balanced color palette.
