After the success of Bad Newz, Vicky Kaushal is set to return to the big screen as the legendary Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in filmmaker Laxman Utekar’s upcoming movie Chhaava. Rashmika Mandanna will portray Yesubai Bhonsale in the film. The makers unveiled the movie’s teaser on Monday, featuring Vicky in a fierce avatar on the battlefield, roaring and fighting enemies.

The teaser begins with an intense battle raging on the banks of a river, setting the stage for Vicky Kaushal’s commanding presence as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky’s voiceover takes over as he says, “We call Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj a lion, and we call Chhaava the lion’s child.” The screen then shows Vicky riding a horse, dressed in battle armor. The following visuals depict him valiantly fighting a sea of enemies single-handedly. Akshaye Khanna’s look is also revealed in the teaser, where he appears unrecognizable as Aurangzeb. The teaser concludes with Vicky’s Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj sitting majestically on a throne.
