Ingredients list
whole wheat flour (2 cups)
water (approximately 1 cup)
salt (1 teaspoon) - if you like salty taste
Recipe Instructions
1 . Combine wheat flour and salt i n a large mixing bowl.
2 . Gradually add water to the bowl and knead the mixture into a soft, elastic dough. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
3 . Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a smooth ball.
4 . Flatten a ball of dough with a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface until it forms a thin circle about 6 inches in diameter.
5 . Heat a tava or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the rolled-out dough onto the hot tava.
6. Cook for about 30 seconds, or until bubbles start to form on the surface. Flip the roti and cook the other side for another 30 seconds.
7. Press gently with a cloth or spatula, making the roti puff up, and flip again for a few seconds.
8. Remove the roti from the skillet and keep it in a covered container. Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
9. Serve warm with your favorite vegetable dish or curry.
